Product Description:
Contour control solution -low level is a 2.5mL reliable aqueous glucose reagent designed to verify the accuracy and performance of your Contour Next Blood glucose monitor. This solution helps to ensure that your contour next meter and test strips are delivering accurate readings or not. Moreover, it also enables you to manage diabetes with confidence and precision through confidential readings.
The Contour Control Solution works by providing a known glucose concentration that should fall within the acceptable range that is printed on the test strip vial. When your control test falls within this printed range, it confirms that your meter, test strips, and technique are functioning correctly. No need to worry at all.
This solution is compatible with the entire family of Contour, like Next Link 2.4, Contour Next one and others. This compatibility ensures that users of all major Contour Next devices can maintain dependable testing accuracy using a single, reliable quality-control product.
Note: Do not use it with non-Contour meters or test strips. Only Contour NEXT control solution and strips ensure valid results.
Usage Instructions For Contour Solution
Before testing, shake the bottle well (about 15 times) to ensure a uniform solution throughout the vial.
Here’s how such systems typically work:
1
Wash and dry hands. Insert a Contour NEXT test strip into the meter as if testing blood. Shake the bottle about 15 times before using.
2
Remove the cap and wipe the bottle tip with a tissue to remove any solution residue. Do not apply solution directly from the bottle to the strip.
3
Dispense a small drop of solution onto a clean, dry surface, then touch the edge of the test strip to the drop so it is drawn into the strip’s sample chamber.
4
The meter will beep and will show the control test result within a 5-second and automatically mark it as a control solution test.
5
Compare the result to the range on the test strip vial. If it matches, the system is accurate; if not, stop testing with blood until the issue is fixed.
Important:
Store the control solution at room temperature, ideally between 48–86 °F (9–30 °C). Do not refrigerate or freeze the solution (avoid extreme temperatures). The manufacturer’s shelf life is typically ~18 months unopened, and the bottle should be discarded 6 months after opening.
When to use:
- On purchasing a new glucose meter to confirm its working.
- Changing the glucose meter.
- Suspected malfunctioning.
- After changing the meter’s batteries.
- If results seem inconsistent or unexpected
