Comparison of Freestyle Libre 3 Plus Sensor with Its Predecessors:
While Libre 3 sensors and Libre 2 sensors may seem quite similar, the Libre 3 Plus has a few upgraded features:
- Dimension and Comfort: The 3 Plus sensor is smaller and more comfortable than the Freestyle Libre 2 sensors. It thus provides better wear tolerance in the long run.
- Accuracy: Having an overall MARD value of 8.2%, Libre 3 Plus has better accuracy than the Libre 2 sensor.
- Compatibility: AID system compatible Libre 3 Plus works with Beta Bionics iLet Bionic Pancreas.
How to Apply CGM on the Body?
Please follow the user’s manual to apply the sensor.
You may also get help from these steps:
- Take an alcohol wipe and clean the area where you plan to apply the sensor.
- Peel the backing off the sensor and press it firmly onto your skin.
- Now insert the sensor just under the skin using an applicator.
- Press the start button on the sensor after you have applied it.
- Read the manual once before using the sensor.
Fingerstick tests are required in case your symptoms do not match the readings or the readings seems too high or too low. Though it’s marked safe to be used by both type 1 and type 2 diabetic people, it’s recommended to always check with your doctor before taking any medical action.
